North ID Regional Spelling Bee

5th Grader, Joseph Moran, WON the N. Jackson Graham

**1st, fiction, 15-18  “Honor Before Prejudice” is historical fiction set in the Wars of Scottish Independence, telling the tale of a Scottish knight who must decide whether his personal opinions are more important than the code of honor

 

Jeffrey Olmo

**Tie for 1st, non-fiction 9-11“Incredible Endurance” is about frogs' amazing capacity to survive the relentless conditions of the Arctic Circle, extreme heat and dry deserts.

**2nd, fiction 9-11  “The Peril of Pearl Harbor” is historical fiction about the attack on Pearl Harbor.

 

Nicholas Olmo

**1st, non-fiction 12-14  “The General Arnold” is a true story about a shipwreck and the surviving sailors during the Revolutionary War and the Great Christmas Storm of 1778.

**2nd, fiction 12-14  “Infiltration” is historical fiction about the H.L. Hunley, a Confederate submarine during the Civil War. It was the first submarine to successfully sink an enemy ship.
